• Behind the beans: Bird and Wild’s Ground Coffee is the only certified Bird Friendly coffee. We want to help make the world a better place for every creature, so 6% of the proceeds from sales of Bird and Wild coffee are donated to the RSPB, the Fairtrade Foundation and the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Centre. It’s the least we could do. Really. Purchasing a pack of our produce will help create a slice of sustainable habitat for wildlife.
• Working in partnership with the RSPB, 6% of sales is donated to the RSPB Charity to help give nature a home, as well as protecting birds in coffee growing lands further afield.
• A return to ethical coffee farming: Modern coffee plants have been grown to be sun-tolerant to meet demand, leading to major overexposure, destroying wildlife habitat and the land itself before farming is then moved to the next plot, then the next, and so on. We have returned to our farming roots. Our shade-grown coffee beans derive from the traditional method of farming this sacred plant by planting it under a dense canopy of plant foliage, saving the land for future wildlife.
